Who in here has owned a Gen5 ZL1
I had a '12 and sold it for some reason and now wanting another one or a gen6. I realize it's an entirely different platform and actually totally different car but do any of you miss your gen5 Z?

I had a '13 ZL1 M6. Great car - but no where near as good as the Gen 6 IMO. The Gen6 is a different ballgame. It feels more solid, the interior is better, the handling and feedback is better, the power hits harder (LT4 is brutal), it's a smaller car in all the right ways. If there's anything specific you want to know, ask away. I would not go back though. There's nothing I miss about the gen 5 ZL1 over the Gen 6.

I had a '12 ZL1 for 3 years and loved it. The tech and handling of the 6th gen is far superior. Add 650hp stock with the A10 and I don't miss the '12 at all.

I owned a 2010 2SS and test drove a 2013 ZL1 numerous times as I was looking to trade up.
I nearly fell asleep on the test drives of the ZL1. I forget how much horsepower the old ZL1s had but it didn't feel like a supercharged car at all. The new one is a monster, even with all the silly nannies GM has put into the tune. The differences in interiors ALONE are enough reasons to pick the 6th Gen.

I had a 13 ZL1 and 15 Z/28. 72k Miles driven. Don’t miss the heat soak LSA ZL1.

the hellcat is a wild bull that wants to kill you and doesn't care about anything but torque and making noise. the ZL1 1LE is much more refined, not the brute force that the hellcat has but the satisfaction you get when you turn the steering wheel and the car sticks to the ground is awesome. they're two totally different cars, which is why I kept the hellcat after getting the Chevy

I probably should've thrown the gen3 ctsv in the mix because that's on my short list as well

Owned a 2013 ZL1 for almost 4 years. The interior was cheap, the handling mediocre, and the LSA in stock form was nothing to get excited about. The 6th gen ZL1 is far superior to the 5th gen in all three areas.
Looking back, there are only two things I can think of that the 5th Gen had over the 6th gen. The first is slightly more leg room in the back seat, and second is a wider trunk opening. Otherwise the 6th generation ZL1 is a better car in every other aspect. Don't miss my 5th gen one bit.

The ZL1 really is the best bang for the buck in the GM performance lineup.
