How much weight does 2.9L Whipple add?

For those that have installed a 2.9L Whipple, what is the total net-weight gain? I've read that that the shipping weight is approximately 150lbs (give or take a few lbs for box/packing material).

I'm looking for: Weight of Whipple/accessories (-) weight of stock intake (and anything else that is removed). Would 130 lbs be a reasonable guesstimate?

Anyone notice any change in handling characteristics? I would think 130 lbs over the front wheels would be noticeable during cornering/braking?

Once you add coolant you’re probably close to ZL1 weight.

I've got a Maggie, which I'm sure weighs about the same as a Whipple. The extra weight is definitely noticeable on my SS, particularly with the MRC in Tour mode. It's not as bad in Sport, or Track. The stiffer springs & slightly lower ride height on the 1 LE should help to mitigate the negative affects on handling.

I haven't weighed my car since adding the Whipple, but it is most definitely noticeable. I've gone to stiffer springs that offset a lot of that in transitions, but it's probably 150 pounds with the coolant.

It's still worth it

Per Fed-Ex the shipping weight of my whipple was 149 lbs, plus 2 gal of coolant which is around 16 lbs. Although you probably remove 16 lbs worth of stock parts. So I would agree with Chris V that the whipple probably adds 150 lbs.

I am pretty sure the coolant isnt additional to the factory coolant capacity, it is just for replacing the original coolant when you break the system open.

PD blowers have their own coolant system for the intercooler. They are liquid cooled instead of air like a procharger.

My Maggie added about 60 lbs on the front, remember there was you stock intake and other stuff that comes off before you add the SC. Don't know about Whipple weight so you should probably choose a Maggie since it will probably be a little lighter too.

I was going to say something similar I think the unit was around 85 lbs... far from 150.

I had Whipple S2 installed on my '15 Mustang GT PP. It added about 150lbs. My car was lowered and you could tell a little bit with the handling the added weight but not that much. The added torque was noticeable though since the S550 lacks that down low IMO.

The boost made the car wicked fast. Traction from a dig was very difficult as I'm guessing it would be for the Camaro too.

If I go the Camaro route, I'd go 1SS 1LE and wouldn't boost it. I just couldn't use the power most of the time.
