What happened to the refresh

Wondering what’s happened to the refresh of the refresh. Everyone was predicting the refresh of the SS would switch to the body color bumper and bow tie back up on the grill after that picture of the Shock colored SS picture was released. Keep seeing some new SSs but all still the black bumper version.

Wishful thinking I presume. At least for 2019 should stay the same.

I never heard Chevy say anything about a change in production . The misinformation highway strikes again.

The tooling for the bowtie front bumper is already made and in production. Nothing is going to change that for a few years.

If this was the 1950's/1960's, I could see a refresh after one model year. These days, 2-3 years minimum if that.

After being at the Detroit Auto show this weekend I was surprised that the updated grill one being on the show floor. I was wondering if they were now offering this as an option but I guess not. I did not see any mention that it was the SEMA car or anything, it was like they were trying to pass it off as the 2019 Camaro SS

My guess is that if they see that they can sell more car with that little modification, they will easily rework the tooling to make it happen. especially after showing it up like that.

they're not going to change it mid model year or people might get pissed. Hopefully 2020 will get the bowtie in the grill.

I thought the same thing Detroit auto show had a v6 1 LE and the shock color sema SS. Thought they would be showing of the actual SS front end.

That’s what I’m thinking and would be a wise move by Chevy. “The 2020 Camaro SS rerefresh”. Nothing wrong with admitting to mistakes.

It needs to at least become an option, which is what I think may happen, while the SS front that we have now would remain standard. Surely that will happen. Otherwise, there is zero point of them doing these colored bumpers.

Great topic , I’ve been looking for a re-designed SS based on when I had read around here and have not been able to find it as well. I’m waiting for 2020 to see if they do a refresh or option or something.

Yes indeed, and the 2019's just suck more and more in low sales. Chevy screwed up big time, all they had to do was create a different and better looking combo than the already good looking 16, 17 , 18, make them all little less expensive to make them competitive with Mustang, put the 10 speed in all the models as the automatic trans option(like mustang did) and give the SS a hp boost close to 500. Camaro would sure be outselling at least the challenger IMO.

Looks like you just had to wait for the 2020 model year.
