2016 Camaro V6 Muffler & Secondary Cat Delete
Hey guys!
So, I've owned my 2016 Camaro RS V6 for a few months now. Came with the factory NPP exhaust, which was nice, but I wanted more sound and for it not to be as tinny. So, I deleted the secondary cats AND the NPP muffler and replaced them with straight pipes. Sounds freaking AWESOME. Not a little tinny car anymore, actually has some sound to it now. You can check it out on my YouTube channel! Any questions, just ask or comment on the video! This thread is for you guys who aren't sure if you want to do it to a V6 and want to know what it sounds like. |

So this voided your warranty? And isn't removing your mufflers illegal in your states? Just asking for myself to get some info. Thanks

Do you still have control of the NPP valves? like if you want to quiet it can you still control it? Also what do you need to do this, I'm new to all of this and I want to do a muffler delete on my V6 that also has NPP.

Sorry for the late response. I'm posting a YouTube video on my channel tomorrow showing take offs and drivebys. I'll try to get a parking garage one here tonight, too!

I kept all of my original parts that they took off an I could weld on if I needed to down the road. As for the actual car warranty, I didn't void it. Law requires the dealership to show proof that the mod you did caused the issue you're having with your car if you run into any problems with it. As for illegal in my state, I've driven by many cops with a pretty good throttle going and never gotten pulled over. There are trucks here in Texas 10x louder than my car. haha |

Best bet is to take it to a muffler shop and have them professionally weld on the straight pipes. The muffler shop will have to cut off the big NPP muffler in the back and bend/weld on some straight pipes in place of it. They'll know what you're talking about if you say you want a muffler delete. Be sure they don't mess with the sensors by the tips and right after the resonator if you still want control of the NPP valves. You'll be golden after that! |

[QUOTE=AlphaCamaro7;9430203]Here in TX we have two year inspections, so since i still have two years left till i have to get it I'm going to see if i still want my exhaust that loud at that point. haha, which is why i decided to keep the original muffler to just weld back on if i want to go back to stock. As for some other buddies that have done muffler deletes, they say they've never had an issue with inspection as long as their cats are still in tact coming out of the manifold of the engine. It's essentially just an axle back, which are legal.
