WARRANTY ISSUES

Deleting your mufflers will give the dealer something to point at if you ever have drive train problems so understand I have a copy of the dealer dvd for training on the camaro and gm makes it clear that any mod other than a gm would be a concern for warranty. in addition in a crash the removal of the factory mufflers could put you at risk of major lost if anyone is injured

ok I can see where gm and make a issue with the warrant which of course deleting a muffler isnt going to me the cause of a engine, or tranny failure, not sure why it would make a difference in a crash, if you keep to old mufflers throw em back on before you take the car in for the repair, why would it make a difference in a crash?

I very much like the sound that this creates, this will most likely be my first mod when I get my car. I'll probably take her right from the dealership to the muffler shop .

I am wanting to go with the muffler delete also, but Ive read on this site some people claiming they have lost power with this mod. Any of you guys who have done the delete coming across any power loss issues?

There's a certain amount of backpressure required to maintain tq levels on the low-end, wouldn't that be lost here?

Don't get me wrong, its a quick, easy, and inexpensive mod for sound and weight, but my first point is the only concern here.

I removed my axle back S type borla exhaust while I wait for the touring ones and I am running without mufflers. I swear i feel I have some more torque in her.... it sounds great...but a little too loud for me.

Why are you exchanging the 'S' type for the touring? Just curious thats all.

Did you ever find a solution for the L99 engine? I am at the point where I want to make the change & muffler less is the right price.

I really like the sound of the muffler delete type exhaust.Thinking about getting the SLP Loudmouth I axle back set up....BUT i have an inbound L99 2SS/RS....Is the AFM sound really that bad & annoying??

TIA

I did it too

I had my muffler delete done today and have to agree with the rest. I LOVE IT!

Just the right sound with a little crackle at the end like the old days........

I have already had two different people pull up next to me and tell me the car "sounds wicked" and "what do you have in that thing...it sounds bad a$$"

They used the 409 SS pipe with SS weld. Sweet job. Thanks to all on here for the info that helped me make this decision!!

It won't affect computer -- nothing back past the cats are monitored. LS/LT/SS cars all have true duel exhaust w/ an X-pipe. And yes, the cats (2 per bank, 4 total) do muffle the car a bit.
w/ an X-pipe.. - its a H pipe factory ..dual exhaust
