Performance shift active message not popping up?

I got out and played a bit today but noticed going into sport mode when I sat still and floored it, the message wasn’t popping up. Still felt like it was doing its thing “popping” in between gears and didn’t feel any different, but would there be any reason I’m not seeing it now?

If you blip the throttle (to the floor and back), it should always display immediately. When you just floor it and hold it there, I've found that the message comes up much later, once you've eased up a bit.

'Skip shift' only comes on in the lower gears at low speed and low rpm, like in your neighborhood. They sell a $10 part on ebay (.50 resistor) that defeats it, is undetectable and won't harm your warranty if they did. Maybe you have an automatic?

He’s definitely talking about an automatic.

Yep. Blipping the throttle on the A8/A10 is the equivalent of downshifting immediately on a stick shift to the gear that corresponds to 3.5-4k rpm at the given speed, then trying to stay in this rev range during subsequent part throttle shifts.

This behavior is sustained until performance shift mode is turned off, which happens automatically a few seconds after easing off the throttle or flipping the shifter to manual mode and back to drive.

Maybe you need to be in Sport or Track mode for it to work?

Huh, never knew this. Thanks for sharing. So just quickly press the pedal to the floor and let off?

i don't recall seeing the message from a stand still, but it will pop up if your driving and give the gas a quick kick and let off in sport mode.
