Thoughts on drivetrain strength?
Has there been any word as to what's being used as far as driveshaft, rearend/differential, cv shafts, etc......? I really hope to build a heads/cam/bolt ons car and I'm wondering what that rearend will hold in a M6 with sticky tires. I've never owned an IRS car but I know the vettes seem to do alright. I just hope it's not a situation similar to the 4th gens where you have upgrade the rearend right off the bat. Might be to soon to tell, just wondered if anyone had insight.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I'm still curious how this Camaro will handle the drag racing side of things. There's no doubt it will be a blast in the turns.

Vettes sometimes have issues blowing up transaxles on hard drag launches with sticky rubber on a prepped track.
If it's the same rear end as the CTS I'd not be worried. Just toss in some 1000HP half shafts for extra security and call it good |

I can only assume he worded that as such, due to the transmission location and configuration(being in the back with the "torque tube", and all...)

I have heard it referred to as a "hybrid" IRS in the vette because the left and right side of the suspension are connected via the transverse leaf spring, therefore it is not truly independent....
