Nice thread! I pick up my 2018 2SS in 10.5 hours (but who's counting ).
I'm pretty amazed at the milage reports, although throughout time pushing a smaller engine harder equaled less MPG - something people don't really get. Someone posted a v6 getting high 30's into 40. I have no doubt - in my wife's 95' Mustang v6 - long gone now - it would do high high 30's between Reno and SLC consistently. Incredible mileage. My wife's 2018 Subie Outback 3.6r on the highway will get around 23 mpg at 80 mph. In town it drops to 14 or so. It is new and this will change but it has a curb weight of 3,800#. Compared to the 2SS at 3,685# - hmm... Who would have thought.... No, I did not get in the Market for a Camaro for mileage - all the same the #'s are pretty nice. Has anyone checked fuel mapping change for running on pump-gas? Usually the FI tech guys have this sorted out - if it's a possibility. This time tomorrow I should have a picture to post |

1. Change to a top tier gas if you're not already using one.
2. Take it out on the highway away from traffic where you can let it run for an hour on cruise control at 60-70 mph. If you're still at 12mph, something is wrong with the car. On a related note: My father and I have identical 2012 Genesis sedans (4.6 v8's). I get nearly 20mph daily driving the car in light traffic with pretty heavy reliance on cruise control (30-50 mph). He's retired and gets 12 while doing his thing up and down US-41. He asked me why his is worse, so I went with him on a ride. Answer became very simple after 3 minutes: It's all in his right foot. The Mistress doesn't get the same light treatment... she gets 12-13 maybe 14 on a good tank |

First get to a about 1500 miles and get an Oil change and then reset your mpg.
Your in LA so traffic conditions may trash your mpg.... Top tier gas is a must.

I was getting 17 ish mpg for a while (M6 SS) with quite a bit of enthusiastic driving, and even my "cruising" consisted of always having active rev matching on and not shifting until 2.5k-3k rpms. This was partially due to me wanting to hear the exhaust, but also just not being calibrated to the power. I came from a stock BRZ, where normal city driving required shifting at higher rpms.
Now at ~5k miles, I can finally (sort of) resist driving enthusiastic at all times and I am learning to drive efficiently with the v8 and can get low 20's with a mix of city/highway. |

I average about 15-16L/100km which is around 15mpg which is about right given I do 80% city and work 10min from home lol

I just drove from tulsa, ok to Branson, mo and averaged 31 mpg. (My personal best) I was tired and had the cruse set on 80 the whole way. I didn't buy it with economy in mind, but it is nice that it achieves double what my daily driven work truck gets.

In the last 2 weeks? Roughly 11 miles round trip. All street. No traffic. Not a lot of stop & go. This is the last trip (I posted this in another post in this thread) Last trip per Chevy Remote Access: Hard Braking 0 Hard Acceleration 0 Late Night Driving 0.0% Distance Driven 11 miles Fuel Economy 11 MPG Average speed 14MPH Speed over 80 MPH 0.0% I generally fill up when I reach around 1/2 tank, but have not really built a history with this vehicle yet. In total I have filled up 3-4x. All 91 Octane (premium here in LA). Not gunning it. Not using the AC. Not idling it. All I have done to it was install a Sto N Sho and Fifty floor mats. Nothing more as I await for it to go back to the dealer for parts to be replaced (top, panel, etc.).

Over all I’m At 19.6 miles per gallon. Just drove the car 480 miles from Chicago to Camaro fast and averaged 24.8 with an average mile per hour of 87 miles an hour. There were numerous trips into the triple digit range affecting mileage. At one point on flatland going through Indiana I was averaging 31 MPG at 80 mph

Yeah, that's why CamaroSS50 is getting 10-11 mpg. Stop and go traffic.
I've gone 1200 miles so far with mine, and going by the break-in recommendations so definitely babying it. Nothing WOT yet and not above 4000 rpm. I even purposely let the 1-4 skip shift happen sometimes for max mileage when in traffic. I never reset the B trip odometer and it's reading 24 mph and 17 mpg averages. It's very few highway miles. It's going to get mid 20s or so on the highway in 6th gear when the rpms are 1500. In town with stops and starts, mid to high teens if you're lucky.
