Tire Pressure ?? WT( Heck )

On Star informs me that my tires are in need of some Air Pressure.
The LF-31, RF-31, LR-32, RR-32. Three weeks ago I had put 36 lbs
in each of the tires. Ok, so now my wife and I go out to the garage
and proceed to put air into the drivers side front tire. (Remember,
it's at 31 lbs) She is looking at the Information Screen and tells me
that the passenger side air pressure is going up to 34 lbs. I told her
that it can't be, because I'm on the drivers side. She said OK, but
the passenger side air pressure is going up on the screen. I continue
to put more air in the tire and she tells me that the passenger side
now shows to be at 36 lbs. WHAT THE HECK! I now go to
the rear drivers side, which is at 32 lbs and I proceed to start putting
air into that tire. My wife then tells me that the screen is showing
that the rear passenger side is starting to show an increase in air
pressure (which is the opposite side that I'm putting air in). I then
started putting air in the tires on the passenger side and the
air pressure showed to be increasing on the drivers side,
according to the information screen. Well, I did finally put 36 lbs
in all of my tires, but is anyone out there having the same problem,
and if so, what did you do to correct it? (I'll probably end up going
to the dealership). These are the factory tires that came
with my 2LT/RS.

Thx-- But why is it reporting pressure for a tire on the opposite side?

Have the dealer reprogram it, it sounds like someone rotated your tires.

Hey, That's right! I've got 10,000 miles on the car already, so OnStar, 2000 miles ago, informed me to rotate the tires. But because I've got larger tires on the back, Discount Tire rotated them side to side. Maybe that's why I'm getting a mixed up reading. I guess I'll be taking it back to the dealer to get it reprogrammed. Thanks for your help guys!

I think there is a way listed in the owners manual to do the sensor relearn yourself. It should take you no more than five minutes to do and there is absolutely no heavy lifting. Save yourself a trip to the dealer.

You don't have to go to the dealer, unless you don't like to do things yourself.

See pg. 9-60 in the manual.
It tells you how to do it by increasing or decreasing the tires air pressure.

hmmm... could have sworn some one told me the tires were directional... but just went out and checked and they don't appeared to be marked directional... sooooo... guess you can rotate them side to side????

I've been told by dealership, Onstar and Discount Tires that it's 36lbs all
4 tires. What that converts in metric?? Don't know--

245 & 275 are the tire sizes..........Not air pressure.
