Correct fluid for Shudder fix?

Several people have posted that their dealer used fluid part number 19417577 for the repair. I had it done a little over a week ago and the fluid they used was 19417904. They specifically listed it being done for bulletin 18-NA-355. Does anyone know which fluid is correct or if they might be the same?

That's the fluid listed on this repair order.

They are the same. 19417904 is the part number for when it's dispensed from a 55 gallon drum. This was used at the beginning of the initial rollout. 19417577 is the same new formula in quart bottles. This should be available to all dealers now.

Thanks. I just figured that out. I had checked several of the GM parts places online with no luck. Then I remembered to try GMPartsDirect.com and they listed both part numbers with the big difference in price. Incidentally, they sell the quarts for $5.24, regularly $8.51. The drum price is $1092.96, regularly $1775.44. Lots of markup.

Just a thought, has anyone heard of an additive that will correct the fluid that is currently in out cars trans fluid, similiar to an additive for the limited slip differential ? I of course am not suggesting using the diff fluid in the trans, but I see trans fluid additives at all part stores, but I don’t know what is needed in our fluid to stop the shudder or slippage.

It took them this long to come out with this oil, if there was a off the shelf fix they would’ve deployed that years ago
