Wow!!!!
That’s a serious hog you hit. Sorry about your loss. That sucks. Regarding the 1LE badge. I have never seen a badge on a new car that designates a 1LE. Regardless that’s a tough loss. Glad your ok my brother |

Sucks. Sorry for your loss. If the balancer wasn’t hit and bags didn’t pop then I’d be surprised they totalled it. $20k or so for parts and a few more for paint and it’s back to new, goonzquad style.

Yea so far the estimate is 18K total. I can’t believe they’re totaling it for that really, I kind of think it’s bullshit. On the other hand though I don’t really want to deal with issues down the road. I got a kickass deal on this car so I’ll have to pony up 3-4K more on the next one but so be it. After owning one I’m hooked.

OP glad you are OK. Did front airbags deploy?
Cars these days seem to be one hit wonders. Had two cars totaled on me last year a fairly new 4Runner and a month old new Outback. One wife's fault one another driver's fault. The 4runner had almost 25k of initial front damage, similar enough to yours, the Outback 20k of damage at first estimate - both when adding salvage value insurance totaled them. We had new car replacement (as seen on TV) on the Outback and did quite OK - about 4k more than the OTD price we paid. The 4Runner had high residual value so we did OK on that too - still not fun events. Nobody hurt - so that's the main thing. Did you see the first estimate before they totaled it? Just curious but guessing around 25k, plus plus plus....

Just curious here -- is insurance giving you full value of the car?

Most important thing is nobody was injured. The car is replaceable and you’re better off that it’s totalled. Who wants to be with a girl every guy in town ran up in? Count your blessings and order your hyper blue ZL1 tomorrow. (Hey I can live vicariously through you right?)

It sucks, but with your first thread maybe this is better for you, since you know some things to look/listen for now. Silver lining?

Glad you were not injured. Good luck finding another one. We have those big hogs around here in central Texas. They seem to like the part of the toll road where the speed limit is 85mph. Last year a family in a Tahoe hit one and the vehicle went end over end. Luckily they all walked away.

I doubt it, but it depends on his insurance company. I got almost all my money back on a wrangler that wasn’t even a year old. I thought I was gonna take a bath on the buyout, but geico took care of me. I was actually happy to walk away from the Jeep. I never really liked the 4 door as much as my wife did.
