GM Extended Warranties
Denny Menholt Chevrolet in Montana has a new contact person for extended warranties. I have a 2018 ZLE with 3600 miles and another 1 year remaining of bumper to bumper so I purchased a 48 month 48K miles Platinum 0 dect for 578.00. So it will actually add another 3 years to my bumper to bumper warranty for 578.00 My local dealer wanted 2K. I thought this was a insane price so I wanted to pass along the new contact person doing these now for them. Dennis is no longer with them. These are real zero profit to the dealer plans.

I thought the same thing till the contract came. Platinum also. I purchased the 4/48 but still have one year remaining so 1 year will over lap so Im gaining 3 years bumper to bumper for 578.00 I have nothing to do with this dealer but thought a lot of people would be interested.

You sure it’s bumper to bumper? I believe if you read the contract there is a listing of significant exclusions. Still not a deal breaker. Mine paid for itself in the first visit.

Are you sure you are gaining another 3 years? Every warranty I’ve ever seen starts from the day you bought the car, regardless of when you purchase the warranty. So on a 4/48, you are only gaining 1 year and 10k miles over your factory 3/36 bumper to bumper.
I hope I’m wrong, and you are getting a good deal. |

The old saying... If it's too good to be true?? That is really cheap for 3 years of bumper to bumper warranty with 0 deductible. I'd have to read the contract. I hope you got that great of a deal.

Are you SURE the extended warranty is a genuine General Motors extended warranty, good at all GM dealers across the 48 contiguous States, and not a third party only good at two garages in the middle of nowhere???

This idiot thinks he bought another THREE years of warranty when he actually extended his bumper to bumper warranty by ONE.

Real deal, I’m only sharing because it’s such a great deal. platinum O deductible. Good at every dealer in the US. The clock starts 30 days from the start or 1k miles. I had 1 year of bumper to bumper remaining so I actually added 3 years of bumper to bumper coverage, so I have 4 more years from now of bumper to bumper. My brother just did it with them as well.

I don’t know, I emailed him a few weeks ago and after not hearing back I called the Dealer, they said they had a new person running the warranties. It sounded like a young gal, her name is Peyton. She said she wants to get her name out there and is doing these at zero profit to the dealer for now.

I wouldn't call pauly an idiot, but I do agree about the extra year. I think the Peyton person messed up writing the contract. Given the mileage and year in the contract leads me to believe a mistake was made on her part. I don't know what happens if the contract was made in error.

Although I can't speak to the veracity of the policy claims without actually reading the contract, I rest pretty comfortably with saying this is an untruth. The dealership (almost, see below) NEVER does anything at zero profit. Her sales and the profit from her sales are what keep her employed. No profit, no job. The profit may be coming from GM or whoever underwrites the policy as opposed to the purchaser, but profit is coming from somewhere. I have a friend who owned a Chevy dealership for years, another who's a GM at a Ford, one who's a Sales Mgr at a Chevy dealership (and the reason I now drive Chevys). With the possible exception of a one-off customer goodwill situation, there's no such thing as a zero profit sale of anything at a dealership (even the vending machines). That "zero profit" statement would make me question everything. JMHO
