no shit. I was just going to tell him to go away.

Since they announced the LS7 crate engine available with wet sump now I’m trying to decide if it’s less expensive to find a 2014 Z or stuff an LS7 into my SS?

my LS3 is awesome, it makes me want an LS7.

no substitute for more cubic inches.

a nice Z would for sure be less headache than an engine swap.

Pass... V8 engines have 1 cam and it belongs in the middle of the block. Ask Ford, anyone else notice they are bringing back pushrods?

Yep. Ford's brand new 7.3L Godzilla crate engine is a pushrod single cammed OHV engine.

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6007-73

It kinda actually resembles an LS a little bit. Just squint your eyes lol.

If they ever put that in the Mustang, it's all over for the Camaro.

I almost hope they do it so we can rag on the Mustang guys that gave us shit for so long about GM still using pushrod engines. With engine technology being what it is now, I see no reason that we can't keep just improving pushrod tech. It's just so much easier to work on, makes great low end torque, and with today's metallurgy and parts tech, reliably revving them out past 7k rpms is perfectly doable.

People just love a good pushrod engine.

Damn skippy, I still think a properly built LS or LT will kill anything Ford has to offer for a lot less money. Been that way since 1955. Mod for mod the hp gains vs money spent has always been in GM’s favor.

Whoomba, What about the coyote? Still a monstrosity of an ohc engine...

What has to be my only real mentor, had a sign hanging on his office wall the day I interviewed for a job in 1983. It just said this, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Oh yeah, he was head of the Titan Missile engine division at Aerojet in Sacramento, CA before that.

Gimme the pushrods!

I doubt this means anything for the Camaro, but GM has a line of DOHC engines going into the Corvette. Not to mention electric motors joining the party. It's about to get complex versus the LT2 in the Corvette today.
