Hello. What's the difference between the stock SS and the Stock 1LE/ZL1 short throw shifter?

nothing if your ss already came with it.
Shorter throw obviously, unsure if there is a visual difference but here's how it looks.here's a pic of a shorty:

This short throw shifter only came on the 5th gen in the 1LE and the ZL1 (unless you had it installed by the dealer as an option, which I have only seen a few SS on this forum that say the dealer installed when they got their SS)

-From driving my 1LE with this short throw shifter, transmission shifting has always felt crisp with smooth short engagement and I only swapped out for an MGW shifter to try something different and I enjoy trying different things on my car.

-From an online website: difference is quicker, more precise gear changes in your manual-transmission Camaro SS. The same shifters used in the production ZL1 Camaro, which delivers more confident shifts than the SS.

See this thread for more info about the 1LE/ZL1 short throw and post #8 shows Chevy Performance install instructions.

Thanks I looked it up after I posted. Its definitely better than stock SS M6 shifter but not as good as say an MGW. For the work involved in changing it out, I'd rather go with the better product. Thanks for the reply, but I'm gonna pass.
