NICE!!! I want to pay mine off, but I'm at 0% interests, so it doesn't make sense to pay mine it off early.

I owe 9K on mine, hoping to pay it off soon cuz you know, need to start saving for C8 and an AT4 Sierra, but damn it seems just as hard as ever to make any headway.

You know, it's really amazing to me the amount of money my household spends each month just on credit card (so not including mortgage and car payments). My credit card bill over 3 months is more than what my wife and I earned 17 years ago when we married.

I guess it's true what they say, you spend what you earn.

Congrats on the payoff - it's a nice thing.

Congrats! It’s definitely a great feeling being free from payments while owning such a nice car. Enjoy it while you can and try to not get another “ buying itch” any time soon. For some of us, it’s a disease!

OP you are a very smart buyer!! Hang on to that car. It just might be the pinnacle of small block Chevys.

Paid off last month also. I bought this car at a Chevy dealer as a CPO just over 2 years ago. It was a repo, with the original owner having had it for 13 months. The CARFAX showed he had renewed the registration and then had it taken away a couple of weeks later. I assume if he renewed the tags he didn’t think he’d be losing the car so soon afterwards. That sucks but it just goes to show that when you buy a car (or anything else with a loan), you have to leave yourself an “out.” Zero down, seven year financing, rolling one loan into another, and all the other nonsense going on ain’t the way to do it. If all I could pay off quickly was a used Corolla....that’s what I’d be driving.

Most don't think this way.

I save until I have enough to drop down to make the payment what I want.

Pristine credit means 1.9 or less financing and then I don't care about the extra 5-600$ over 5 yrs(or sooner depending on my mood). Hard to justify paying back money at next to no interest I can use elsewhere.

7-8% of paychecks go to the credit union and I never see the money and the payments come out of there. When the Camaro comes in, the Equinox gets paid off and new loan on the Camaro starts.

It's so easy in life if you control your bills instead of them controlling you.

I get what you’re saying. That’s reality. Nothing I spout off is going to change anybody’s mind. It sounds to me like you are doing it right and will be just fine down the line. I believe what Albert Einstein once said. “Compounding (interest) is the most powerful force in the universe.” After the last 20 years of maxing out 401K contributions in 100% low cost equity funds....I assure you he was right. Meanwhile, I’ve watched family members go all out for years. And I wonder what pot they plan to pee in someday.

Bam! We're on the same page. I wish I had been able to max out for the last 20 years, but I can now. Checking things over I've met or started exceeding goals in that regard.

Polebarn project will be cash Camaro will have 50% or a little more down. By mid next year I think all extra cash funds(waited 10 for polebarn and 20 for new Camaro lol) will be going to my 5 yr plan where I want to use it to replace current income whether solo or with partners. Rentals, business, whatever we find of value.
