I just ordered it. They only have the black one in stock, the gold one that fits the 2019-up is no longer offered.

I figure I can either paint it or wrap it. It looks much better to me with the gold bowtie.

Yeah the '16-18 grille has an outline of the bowtie molded into the plastic, so you remove the factory bowtie and insert the aftermarket/illumined one in the space on the grille. If you take off the bowtie on a '16-18 and leave it off you'll still see the outline of a bowtie. The '19-up grille has no outline on the grille. The bowtie is retained by the bracket.

You can see it in part ref. 1:

They have always done me good. When I plug it into there website is says it will fit a SS so it is very misleading. I would just call them and ask.

EDIT: IIRC they check it against your vin.
That VIN check these online parts stores, or the parts departments backing them, do is super helpful indeed.

I asked the people behind gmpartsdirect.com about this some time ago, and the guy strongly recommended the check with every order, because the online catalog/fitment info is incomplete and months behind the current data they see in the shop.

Lol alright will do. Not sure when I’ll get to it. I’ll need to turn the car around and back it in on a day that isn’t wet or too cold for me to work in the garage
