Sweet and capable cars for sure. I just wish they would perform better versus the competition. Last year at Indy, there were a ton of COPO cars running, but none of them made it into the finals. IIRC, that final was a CobraJet vs CobraJet final. Anybody have any info on how the COPO cars stacked up to the Ford and Mopar offerings all season last year?

When they say LSX it can be confusing on if they mean an LS1/2/3/6/7 based engine or the LSX (which is a special made iron block motor designed for 2,500+BHP). I don't think that GM has produced such an engine block based around the fifth generation.

Also in racing it isn't really like they are just taking a production engine and bolting some parts on it. The C5R/C6R 7.0L engine isn't the same block as the LS7 block, those were some serious $125,000 race engines...... that were stated to produce 850BHP unrestricted..... . So we may not see a generation V based LTX motor, as I don't see the point in spending the money to design a gen V iron block for 2,500+BHP applications.

I have a friend that has two copo's hasn't raced either. His 13 is naturally aspirated and his 15 is Supercharged. The 15 is about 1100 hp and the 13 is about 850 if I remember correctly. He'll probably get a 16 one day also.
