Throttle modes
Autocross and track related question here...
Is the throttle response more linear in Sport mode than Track mode? If so, can you run in sport mode and set the suspension to track mode under settings and still get the "Sport Mode" throttle response? Last edited by cab33; 07-10-2018 at 05:06 AM. |

Damn, I didn't even know there was a change in throttle response between modes. If I may ask, exactly what are the actual on paper differences between driving modes? The manual isn't exactly clear on this. My main goal is to get better than a few thousand miles out of my OEM 1LE tires while riding the street. Right now, I have it so the exhaust note doesn't change between Touring, Track and other modes. I don't mind riding around in touring mode. Will this give me more life out of the tires? Thank you! |

Randy Probst helped GM calibrate the throttle inputs for the modes on the Camaro. The Sport setting is very linear all the way thru the range. On the Track mode the beginning portion of the throttle is dulled down to reduce the chance of upsetting the suspension when going into or exiting the corners, then the throttle goes back to being linear in the middle to high end of the throttle range.
Thats what I remember from my foggy memory when this was brought up 2 years ago. Last edited by TJay74; 07-10-2018 at 12:18 PM. |

This is all subjective since it just our opinions, but I would swear that the Track is the most linear throttle response and works almost identical to how a throttle cable would, Tour is actually slightly more aggressive and sport is the most aggressive to "feel sporty"
Also I'm pretty sure that you can't separate the PTM modes from the rocker switch being set to Track. So if you run sport mode but track suspension a double press of the traction button only gets you "comp mode" instead of "Perf Traction Management"

Someone has posted a chart somewhere on the forum that shows all of the settings (exhaust, suspension, steering, etc) for the different modes. The throttle should be the same between Tour and Sport, but Track is exactly as TJay74 has stated above.

And it is too aggressive in track mode IMO.

My right foot is always linear no matter what mode I'm in!
My best laps times so far have been using Sport 2. |
