Smile For DIYer, What is your favorite oil/filter brand?

This is very basic question.

Im fixing to go pick up oil from Wally for my first 500 miles oil change. We all know GM recommended Dexos 1 certified (xW - 20/30).

There are plenty out at local stores. Whats Camaro06 group’s favorite oil/filter company?

For Filter: WIX/NAPA Gold
Oil : I like Castrol but i think im going to try M1 5w30 or ACDelco for SS or Pennzoil? Im waiting “new” M1 0w40 (Dexos) to hit my local store

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-30 and Fram Ultra filter. I plan on using the new Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40 on my next oil change though.

AC Delco filter to ease warranty but Fram Ultra on anything else.

Oil currently running Motul X-Clean but likely to switch to M1 0W40 ESP when it comes out.

I will never use a Fram filter. I have a long memory, and they have had too may severe quality control problems. So much so that one of the motorcycle racing sanctioning bodies banned any competitor from running a Fram filter. Now, maybe they have fixed their problems and are fine these days, but I won't take a chance on a company that allows such dangerously defective filters to reach the shelves. Not interested in arguing about it - if you think Fram is good, more power to you.

AC Delco filters for me.

I used Castrol Edge synthetic 5w-30 in my '16 2SS.

OEM. There really is no reason to use another unless you just like how they look or spending more money.

Oil: Pennzoil Platinum( Ultra Platinum is not Dexos 1 Gen 2 approved).

Filter: AC Delco PF64. Be careful with other filters since the bypass value on the OEM filter is 22 PSI. The most popular WIX filter is 12 PSI. Might be a warranty concern.
