Now that I'm supercharged, would replacing this make ANY power difference?
I know it has been proven on a stock car to not add a single horsepower, but has anyone done any testing with a boosted set up? I'm just wondering if it would be worth the $ to have a shop put in two straight pipes where the smooshed exhaust is......

I doubt it, and even if so not worth the expense or effort.
What filter/intake setup do you have? I've seen 30RWHP and 35RWTQ improvement on supercharged cars of other makes going from the stock air box to a CAI with as big a filter as will fit. Rotofab just released theirs today. |

Thanks for your thoughts on the crushed exhaust too.

The crimps in the exhaust only modify the sound of the exhaust, not the output of the engine. Reason the crimps are there is to provide clearance for the rear cradle because it has a ton of deflection in all directions that can occur and the crimps allow for the cradle to move downward without smacking the exhaust.
If you want exhaust with straight pipes in that area, stiffen up the rear cradle and limit its' movement. |
