@EDFHOBBIES
After reading your entire thread, thank you. The following is what's needed for an otherwise stock engine to bolt on and go with factory boost levels, right? Tuning not needed for now? Edelbrock 2650 #155920 3.75 - 15831 Last edited by gotswap; 09-16-2019 at 09:43 AM. |

When I got my ZL1 I was like I'm not messing with this car, I found out my wife was quicker than me. Then I installed headers, lower pulley, and intake myself and took care of her..Then I ran up against a few cars that ate my lunch so I did cam, ported heads, 2650 and pretty decent fuel sytem after this I ran my buddies new ZR1 w the GM2650 I pulled him barely the 1st race, the next race neck and neck and 3rd he pulled me. So then I got the blower ported while waiting for the Bog issue to be tuned out. Once that was gone I noticed after going through a few gears you could feel the car stumbling it wasn't HI iats pulling timing it was the that dam good porting from Kong making my rail pressure plummet 800 or so psi.
Well this should take care of that and hopefully I'll be done other than trufiber has a lot more carbon for me to install. Will make a glory pull then dial it back to 900 to 930 range I imagine..

Well I guess the debate is a TIE both blowers 900 plus both have trunk tanks, both use e50/45 and meth.. almost identical setups on these caddies.. the IATs are like beating a dead horse now and put those claims to the pasture. Both cars needed cooling mods for those power levels and after contacting both shops the IATs were within 5 degrees of one another.
I still argue it's nice to have the port injection option! Edelbrock's 2650R intakes with port injection rails is a cheaper solution. I'm glad they designed there's with this option. For those wanting to run all e85 and not mixing, not using race fuel, and not having to use meth using them will be a cheaper and less maintenance of keeping up with mixtures and keeping a meth tank full. These were the options I had to look at.. when trying to fuel a DIcrect injection 6 gen... here they are from least to most expensive.. LT4 OEM fuel parts and DSX Pump with race gas Cam lobe 38% Cam lobe 38% e50 and meth on LT4 parts with OEM injectors or 30/45 plus aftermarket injectors Low side DSX Auxiliary pump Cooling mods 900 to the wheels 42% cam lobe LPE big bore pump 30/45 plus injectors Return style lowside that supplies 100psi with a constant pressure of 80psi under full load (basically 2 525lph intank pumps mounted in factory can or an aftermarket one using the OEM line as a return line, and running a new feed line with a fuel pressure regulator near the rails) 900s on full e85 800s w DSX Port injection assist with the DI system 1100 to 1200 depends on supporting mods but fuel system will do it easy XDI pump belt driven from Katech Katech 45 plus injectors DSX low side maybe enough (no ones really tried this and this is why I went port injection) Also is under 6ms enough time to squirt that much fuel for a big number Claims 1600 hp plus.. with the use of OEM lt4 DI pump inconjunction with a belt driven DI pump and 45 plus injectors. Well as you can see both blower are awesome and capable of 1000 plus to the tires.. I get a little upset when I see magnuson claims that there's is the only one that can achieve these numbers and that everyone else is on a smaller playing field. Just not true anymore..

Sad we are still comparing dyno numbers across different dynos.
Couple differences not pointed out which is per usual (i expect it at this point). Edelbrock is ported with a 5” and heads. Maggie isnt.

There's no winning with you maggi guys yall proved yourselves in the market the last few years but, now a company known for producing a gentleman's blower (a dependable blower, 50 state legal, that will never make big power) has changed the game.
I dont think it is and not sure about the heads.. who cares if the blower is ported .. porting the blower cost the same as paying 1000.00 more for y'alls unit.. You all ways got a come back And I wont need race gas for my numbers on a dyno or a drag strip like your boy.. I wont have to mix 93 and E, or even run meth.. There nothing you can say other than clearancing the hood to having a upper hand now. Port injection for the win!

Just wanted to make sure things were on an even keel. You seem to always leave things out.
Personally I think your car is a great example of a dyno queen. You dont race it, you dont attend events with it, you wont 1/4 it, wont roll race, etc and on FB you simply block everyone that ever comments even slightly counter to your thinking.... (Jason, Nick, Me, etc....) So continue doing that. Glad you are happy. Most people wouldnt fathom spending $4-6k (port injection) to achieve a dyno queen number and never use the car competitively. I run around on 92 octane 80% of the time (thats whats available in the NW, not much if any e85 pumps in a 3 state radius). So dumping a little different fuel in for big competitive events isnt a big deal. The Edelbrock is a great unit once ported. The 2650R from Maggie will have port injection available for Camaros soon. The development is done. Until then I look forward to more dyno queening and hope the platform continues to evolve as we have some great options right now.

I've been to a 1/4 mile plenty of times, road course, auto X.. but correct I haven't done much since November since the build process. In and out of the shop adding power.. Hahah in development that be another 2 years.. "Kahn I'm laughing at the superior"

Care to link them? A 900++whp on a “mustang dyno” should be a monster from a roll. No one I know in Houston has ever heard of your car racing anyone. Would be awesome to see a 6th gen doing well.

You are a funny guy for sure. Why, cause this boy is old enough to be your dad and shizzy's dad also. But he's a pretty big guy so he's probably the milk man boy. Ha. We just have different goals about our build. You seem to tear yours down a lot. I already have at least 30 worry free passes on this blower and been having fun except for all the parts in the drive train I've torn up. However I believe I have all those sorted out so now I can turn up the wick till it runs out of fuel. Then I'll see where we go from there and I do hope you get yours back on the road again so you can have some fun with it. Don't lump all us Maggie guys together, we are all different as I don't lump all the Ebrock guys together. Kinda like when you called one of our sales team an old lady but remember she's about your age, maybe some day you'll get old like me and then you can start having fun like me. LOL We need to have a beer sometime but its really hot down there in Houston so you'd have to come to Missouri.

Well said buddy. Thanks!. beer anytime for sure..
Back to my build My trunk tank is ready.. you know me I do things differently.. I plan to run 3 exchangers if I need to.. oem up front and this trunk mount one with icing capability.. I will be able to empty a bag of ice on the fins maybe add water.. draining will be easy hassle free since I'm not going into the sytem each time. The 3rd exchanger will be mounted in the trunk if I need it pulling AC cabin air over its fins with a puller fan.. I can raise seat up then turn off the puller and it will never be seen. Or I can go full race car take rear seats out lol Doing the math I will add capacity of 5 gallons and have the ability to cool.
