Winter tires for 2017 Camaro 2.0T 1LT
Hey guys - what is a popular rim size + tire combo for the camaros?
I plan on DD'ing my car in the winter in Toronto and would like to get a decent pair for a good price. I wouldn't mind going down in size for the rim diameter to get more rubber. Any ideas as to what could be a popular easy to find downsize tire? |

I got a good deal on some 5th gen 18" wheels with 235/50/18 Blizzaks. Not as pretty as the stock 20" RS wheels, but for the winter they are perfect

I have a set of 255/40/19. They're sightly lower overall diameter, but it works well.
I'll be listing them in a week or so. The wheels are good, 2 of the tires are Khumo Wintercraft WP71 in the 9-10/32nds range, 2 are old Pirellis which need replacing. |

I have Michelin X-Ice 3s for my car (245/50/R18), on a set of aftermarket wheels. Haven't had an issue driving it these past 2 winters.

I had lengthy problems with my Camaro, I'd go so far as to say it wasn't a viable vehicle. I didn't have a car for a couple of months and I recently picked up a Ford Fiesta ST. It's pretty fun. I never imagined I'd own a FWD car, but it's really nimble and the torque vectoring feature removes a lot of the traditional FWD understeer.

Got my tires on PMC tire. Here's the info for them. Downsized from 245/40/20. I went a little more expensive and got black rims.

I went 225/55/18 -same rubber - great winter tire for the SS - made 3 winters on them, and have to replace now. They probably have 60,000 km on them, easy.

I went from the staggered 245mm/275mm and 20" wheels to 18" wheels with 225mm all around. As others have said, they don't look as nice as the 20" wheels and you have to be a little more careful with 20% less width on the rear tires, but should be much easier pushing through snow. Replaced the OEM summer run flats with Michelin X-Ice 3.
