Lightbulb Anyone disable noise cancellation on a Bose system?

Being a Camaro and all, I'd like to hear more of the engine when I drive.

Have any of you guys successfully disabled noise cancellation on a Bose system?

Did you lose any other functionality?

AFAIK, the noise cancellation reduces the sound of drivetrain rumble at low engine rpms. It has no effect on exhaust tone or any intake sounds, etc. you get when accelerating.

So, unless you are a big fan of rumble when cruising at 1300 rpm, I would not bother trying to disable this.

This is really there so people don't think their cars are about to stall when cruising at low rpms. The engine can handle it, and you get better fuel economy. The problem is we think that noise means the engine is struggling.
