Help with rotofab install

21 2SS, previous owner installed a K&N intake. The bottom of the baffle was starting to rust and I always hated the way it looked so it was a good excuse to buy a rotofab. Get to installing and realize the nipple on the rotofab elbow will not mate to the OEM hardline hose to the passenger side PCV. See pic. I believe there is a little box that is supposed to go inline.

I am not well versed enough in modern engines to understand how the PCV system works. Can I simply cap off both ends? Open breather like the Mighty Mouse? Run to the hardware store and get some 3/8” fuel hose and clamps?

Is it the big gulp? It has the fitting for the bigger line. JRE sales the hose with the factory still push lock on it.

Not the big gulp. Standard intake for the SS. Ran to autozone and I think I’ve got something that’ll work. I’ll post an update in a bit.

Here’s what I came up with. Got about 4 ft of Duralast 5/8” heater hose, 5/8” heater hose elbow, and a couple of hose clamps. Plumbed one end directly to the intake nipple in the previous post. Plumbed the other end into the passenger side PCV with the elbow to give it some bending space.

Not sure if this is how it’s supposed to be routed, but that’s essentially how it was before. Should at least hold me over until someone who actually knows what they’re doing looks at it lol.

Kind of digging the soft hose look instead of those ugly hard lines. May try to source some of those OEM style clips and rerun the other two.

Ok, just found out you can carefully cut the nasty hard tubing off of the OEM connectors and plump your own 3/8” hose on it. Now I just need to find a 1/2 NPT 90deg 3/8” barb fitting to replace the 5/8” fitting on the intake, bend the 3/8” hose a bit, and it should be a pretty stock looking solution.

I thought that elbow was for the sound tube if you decided to keep it like I did. Went on the bottom of the intake elbow? Could be wrong. That was what was in mine when I installed if a few months ago. Glad you made it work

There are two holes in the stock intake. One for the PCV vent and one for the sound tube. I believe the rotofabs that keep the sound tube have the sound hole on top, and the PCV hole on the bottom, but if everything is connected who cares ig.

For anyone that runs into the same issue in the future, this 5/8” barb to 5/8” J2044 fitting allows you to run a single piece of 5/8” heater hose from the PCV to the intake elbow.
