Sure, the area you garage (don't garage) it can make a difference, and regions dictate different costs, but insurance companies have data based on the type of car, average costs of repair, average theft, etc. so it's good to get a baseline of what to expect. I pay about $1500 for 6 months which included a 2021 Nissan Titan (replaced by a Nissan Leaf) and a Chevy SS Sedan. The ZL1 will be replacing the SS Sedan and it's going to be interesting to see if my rates go up or down. I'm hoping down, as the SS Sedan may cost more for parts replacements (given that only 1500 units a year were built).
There must be some truth to those other variables, though, since I'm paying less than half for literally the same car and coverages with the same insurance company than I used to in a different state, while our family record is pretty far from squeaky clean, basically one own fault accident and claim per year up to 2019 (now that I think of it, though, it's been 3 years since the last one, they may have "rolled off" the policy).

Also, all drivers must be listed for every car on the policy, which definitely shouldn't help, yet I saw a never expected drop in premiums. Not complaining of course, just saying there are many variables and location may matter a whole lot more than any factor related to the car and/or personally linked to drivers.

Yeah......not many "variables".....lol

State minimum? (15/30/5)
25/50/25?
100/300/100?
250/500/250?
Comprehensive / collision deductible $0, $500, $1000?
Licensed drivers in the household they WILL look at them as possibly driving
Credit rating.......uh yeah.....it's a variable

And we haven't even brought in the driving record......lol

So 2 people from same state, age and car can have widely different premiums, throw in a different area of a particular state or a different state.....yeah.....variables.....lol

Talking about variables. To me it's these that will cause rates to be different outside of what you can control in the plan you choose:

Age
Married or single
Location (State and where at in the State)

When I changed addresses last year, my rates went up a few dollars per month. Living in out in the Country (lower rate) vs being in the City (higher rate).

2018 ZLE

$463 every 6 months
100/300 with matching uninsured motorist
500 comp/1000 collision deductible
+20% replacement value if totaled
accident forgiveness
additional medical payments

I'm 31 and it went up quite a bit when I relocated to TN from SoCal. I'm guessing ZLE's aren't worth stealing in SoCal.

That’s surprising. I live in west tn and would have expected CA to be higher. Of course that depends on where in CA.

Multi policy discounts and multi vehicle discounts are a huge variable in keeping costs down

There will be some variation, but my point is that we can at least get an idea of how much more/less people are paying. I think if anything it helps everyone realize that they need to shop around for insurance from time to time, which is actually a pretty good idea to do even if you think you're getting a great rate. I had homeowner's insurance and two cars for just myself with Kemper and called Allstate and saved about $300 a month. Like I said, sure there's going to be variation from region to region, but these threads are good reminders that there are discounts to be had with a "15 minute phone call". Oh and for the record, I don't like Geico, nor State Farm...hell I don't really care for any insurance company to be quite honest.

Cheaper than comparable mustang, Focus RS !!, M3, M4, RS3, etc for me anyways.

Compare before you buy if it makes a difference for you.

$187 a month through Geico. I switch between them and Progressive every year because after a year everything seems to jump to $290+ but then switch to the other company and it's significantly cheaper. For the record no claims/accidents, residing in Las Vegas.

I was in Irvine, CA. Home of 40% rich Asians, 40% rich Persians, and 20% rich White people. The cops primary job is to keep the peace because there's no real crime. And it was insulated from the LA bullshit by Tustin and Santa Ana. I can leave a C7 unlocked with keys in the driver seat day or night anywhere in Irvine and it'll still be there.

Love the weather in SoCal and the good driving roads. Not to mention the car scene.

I am 49 with zero claims ever and I live in NC with two drivers listed per car. I own a 2021 c8, a 2021 supra, a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle, and a 2007 for focus. everything has full coverage with 0 deductible except the focus is has state minimum I only pay 157 a month for everything. IM with geico

A buddy of mine sold his c8 and got a zl1 and his insurance went up. I cant remember how much but it went up a good bit.

Why do you pay for 0 deductible if you never had a claim in your life? I would say you have enough luck to risk losing 250 bucks.
