You can drive away or outrun the truck, but you cannot outrun the police radio. Likely they would have been waiting for the guy a few miles down the road anyhow even if he did not crash.

I did run once as a teenager, but never again. I got away clean parking and a quick lights off on a side street by my parents house watching 2 police cars zoom by my house. I did beat that GTO with my '65 351 Falcon. I laid in bed thinking, man that was stupid and this time I was lucky. I won the race the GTO got caught. No one was hurt. I realized running usually does not end like this. Never again! I did find out later the police harassed a white Corvette they thought was me. I was proud of that and happy to have learned a life lesson the easy way.

Well, he got what he deserved. I'm happy for him. Hope he will loose his driver license and that it will cost him a fortune to drive in the future. As a responsible driver, I don't need idiots like this that increases my insurance rate.
