I have two questions. If you get primary cat delete pipes and leave on the secondary cats will the car smell catless? Also the primary cats are the main restriction not the secondary ones? Because this will be MUCH cheaper than headers if thats the case.

There is not much smell, my car smells a little like Vodka. You can also move the rear 02 to behind the 2nd cats and all is well with the emission ready lights.

A cai doesn't show it's true gains on the dyno because the air flow going into the air box isn't the same as real world driving. It has been proven time and time again...same goes for ram air mods.

No gains is Without tuning... on a gen 5 engine the ECU is based off torque calculations. So headers and a cai likely will bump into the factory torque limit settings and the ECU will close the throttle to reduce torque. The results are you end up going slower. Brett Stewart from Pray Performance mapped all this out in the past. You can likely get away with a Rotofab and Ported IM/TB with no tuning. Once you do headers or even primary cat deletes, you need to tune so the throttle doesn't close and reduce torque.

That is correct...and no the car doesn't smell catless especially if running E85.

I will definetly be tuning. So before around 30whp with headers and tune?

That would surely mirror the 2-2.5mph gain I witnessed

I did the Speed Engineering 1 7/8 long tubes with X pipe and we saw about 16 hp on the same dyno with almost the same conditions. I just made a few changes in the tune. I only use the dyno for tuning and it really means nothing when you get to the track. I ran 4 tenths quicker then and about 5 mph. So no other changes, don't let the dyno rule your day or make you pissed cause it didn't make what you thought it might. Go to the drag strip, thats your true dyno.

easy to say in an auto car on a tire...not to mention just being able to get to the drag strip is 3/4 of the battle sometimes.

Dragy works well if you have a nice stretch of road to test on. Likely won't be able to launch as hard as being at a well prepped track but it provides accurate data.

I have very clear numbers when JRE was testing my 2016 M6 SS.

Results here:

Great info from Ted for newbies to the CA6 V8 Camaro. I don't see him here as often. Highly recomended.

I think the dynos are gone but the numbers are there:

1 7/8 ARH LTs gave + 15 RWHP. The 2" ARHes added a couple of more HP but Ted picked the 1 7/8s for my mild build. His comment on the LTs was it woke up the curve so they were well worth it. We have triYs stock so that is a step above an old school manifold. And the stock CAI is pretty good.

My comment is after I added LTs to my SS it sounded like crap. No LTs going on my LT1. Not worth a tenth or so on a mild build to me.

Did you keep cats with your headers? I have Kooks with hiflos going through sw axleback and think it sounds amazing! I believe deleting the cats and not running a muffler would make it sound pretty bad.

I picked up 30hp with headers and tune on a LS2 C6 and around 35hp with a LS3 2013 C6. I guess gains are less on the LT1.
