Camaro Q2.20 sales down to 6,675 (-46,3%) vs Challenger + Mustang

GM released their sales numbers for Q2 2020

Q2 2020:
Camaro: 6,675 down from 12,433 (-46.3%)
Challenger: 9,880 down from 15,237 (-35%)
Mustang: 15,717 down from 21,625 (-27.3%)

YTD:
Camaro: 13,860 down from 24,516 (-43.5%)
Challenger: 22,018 down from 28,668 (-23%)
Mustang: 33,786 down from 38,542 (-12.3%)

GM strike and Corona seem to hit Camaro really hard this year.

I will update this post once we got Mustang and Challenger numbers.

Most cars aren't doing that well in the Chevy lineup. Trucks and SUVs are still doing fine and they are the real money bringer.

I see quite a few Blazers around here myself.

I've never seen them advertised...I thought they stopped making them in 2019.

Had Chevy dropped 0/84 on the 2020 Camaro as was with a lot of the Chevy line up I would have moved 1LE > ZL1 but they didn't...

Auto sales across the board are getting hit hard just read an article showing Ram truck sales down 35% compared to last year. A lot of sales are down in the Auto industry in Q2 cause of the virus. TFL posted this this morning https://www.tfltruck.com/2020/07/jul...-sales-report/ Ford and Toyota have yet to release their numbers. They will update it later when more numbers are available.

I couldn't agree more. New vehicle prices are stupid high.

Definitely. Even with tremendous discounts and special financing, we are at depression era levels of unemployment. Combine that with two week stay at home orders that turned into three months, everybody's hurting.

In many areas around here, dealerships were only open for service, and remote sales, which, frankly, doesn't work well for anyone, regardless of how much you hate dealerships. So, not only people not buying cars because of financial insecurity, even those that want to buy cars couldn't.

Many dealers had and still have zero discount on Camaros. Their pricing is MSRP minus the GM rebate. Meanwhile Ford blew out Mustangs with up to 20% combined for 2019's and 15% for 2020's. I want a damn Camaro, but I'm not paying $5k or more over a Mustang GT with the same options. Even the base LT1 Camaro was $4k-$5k more OTD over the base Mustang GT. Some may pay it. I sure won't.

The premium over the Mustang isn't worth it.

Change your pricing model Chevy. What you're doing right now isn't working.

I bought my Camaro for invoice + rebates. I had 2 dealerships offer me invoice. 1 was down the street and one 2 hrs away. Neither would budge of that number though. One was a Costco certified dealer and still no deal.

I also ordered it in the 1st quarter (3/6) and I'm still waiting for it going into the 3rd quarter.

In So Cal, there is almost no inventory, and you can't sell what you ain't got. I figured it was from the plant shutdown, but really very few cars in the state.
