Ususally, it's in a fairly consistent range.
I know on my Dmax Silverado there were a few items that hit most of the engines at pretty much the same mileage.
Mine has around 85k, and yes Duramaxes are pretty consistent on water pumps at 120k, wheel bearings at 150k, etc.

Manh 85k before issues with cooling. I had my rad fan fail at like 45k. Was not cheap.

I think it happened at around 85k.

I've 60,000 + miles on my 2016 Camaro SS and I had to take my car to the Stealership this morning for this very reason.

UPDATE: The Stealership said that it will take 3-5 business days to get the part from Michigan and will cost $531.68.(parts and Labor) I called and auto parts warehouse and they said that the part is dealer exclusive so they could not get the part. The part# for this is: 8456700

I used heater hose, I think 3/8 but I will confirm what size I used. I had to buy like 6 feet of it because the parts store wouldn't want to cut it. There's no way a piece of hose can cost $500?? Even with labor, it took me like 20min to change. My advice is to get one of those flexible hose clamp pliers.

This is what we can expect from the dealership system, they get to bill GM for all the labor hours when in reality it takes 10min to change but I'm sure the procedure has you remove and drain a bunch of stuff. This is the very reason why people think these cars are unreliable to someone who didn't understand what was going on this would seem like a huge issue.

Not saying it isn't a serious issue, since this is a piece that should not fail and if it does, it leads to a issue that would stand you and could seriously hurt the engine, although with the modern controls I doubt you could ever hurt the engine since it's smart enough to go into reduced power mode and I think will even alternate cylinders and try to air cool.

Missing a zero at the end of the part number. Should be 84567000. Looks like I had this exact issue tonight. I’ll get under the car tomorrow and confirm. MSRP on part is $110

So the hose I used to replace it is actually 5/8 in (15.9mm) inside diameter. The stock piece may be a metric size or something but the 5/8 seems to be almost perfect fit for it. The hose I used is SAE J20 R3 certified "Heater Hose" so I'm assuming its good enough to replace the stock line.

Either way the stock line has shown us its sorry-ness, or either the supplier had some issues.

Does anyone know if maybe the stock line is a special purpose line? I believe this is just a normal coolant line that runs from the radiator to the oil cooler?

Update: Sounds like the exact same short hose between the two metal formed pipes to the oil cooler. Part number 12678753. Replaced it at the shop and the connection of the metal pipe to the upper front side of the engine can be difficult. The tube connects with a coupler which is tricky to get in and out. Seems like removing the driver side steering rack nut and bolt gave just enough space to angle the connection together. You don’t need to remove anything more than that one nut and bolt to get clearance. You could simply replace the short rubber section which might be easier but I preferred a new part since I’m in Florida (Hot as hell) and running 2650R.

Mine just failed on me. Minding my own business going down the highway then, poof! The back of my clean car is now speckled. I got under the car today to look and sure as shit, the smallest line on the car in the most inconvenient spot had to break..... I noticed mine instantly and my temps never went up so I caught it in time. Is there any perma fix for this or do I just replace it with another line and wait for it to happen again later? I have a 2016 ss with only 34k on the clock.

Well idk about a permanent fix but I went with silicone hose and stainless clamps for silicone hose as a fix. Time will tell whether this was an upgrade. Also, I did this to be proactive before it blew that line.

FYI. We have a kerosene heated 4000psi pressure washer at work and I would never use that on a car or really anything that normal people buy lol. Its a absolute beast it'll blast the powder coat off wheels

So is there a consensus on what is causing these lines to fail?

What I don't get, given that the hose should be a commodity type product, so you would think that there wouldn't be a lot type failure of these.
