IN CANADA...

The hazards: if the bolts break, the vehicle may experience a loss of electric power steering assist. If this occurs the driver may experience a sudden increase in steering weight, requiring more effort to steer the vehicle – especially at low vehicle speeds. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles:

2013 Cadillac ATS
2014 Cadillac ATS
2015 Cadillac ATS
2016 Cadillac ATS
2014 Cadillac CTS
2015 Cadillac CTS
2016 Cadillac CTS
2016 Chevrolet Camaro
2017 Chevrolet Camaro
Affected parts: power steering assist motor bolts, steering gear.

Yep, in Canada. Presumably the US will follow suit shortly? All Camaros come from the same factory and there is no difference between those sold N vs S of the border. Cheers!

I received the recall notice on my Cadillac months ago. I haven't gotten anything on my Camaro. I am in the US.

My pleasure. It seems it is all about how much pressure individual safety gov bodies put on a manufacturer...

There was a US recall for the steering last year. Go to the GM web site and enter your VIN or go to a dealer to check the status of your car.

Just picked mine up today from sitting at the dealer for three, yes (3), weeks. They never mentioned any recall out for the car. I even happened to check the https://my.gm.com/recalls site the other day too, nothing was pending on my VIN.

Interesting. I had mine in for the A8 shudder last year and the dealer wouldn’t let me have the car back until the steering recall was done too. Maybe they made a mid-year correction or there was a TSB for dealers to perform the fix on deliveries before it became a recall.

Here is a forum post about the recall from last year:
