gas mileage

My wife has been driving the camaro we bought It looks like shes getting 20.3 mpg Myself I think thats pretty good for a 6.2 with 2300 miles on it.

On a side note the 2 plastic panel things that came in the trunk I briefly looked at the paper it said something like install these for tracking the vehicle. I didn't look into it any further in fact I tossed them in the trunk of one of the other cars. Will someone please tell me what they are for the car is a 2021 SS with the upgraded leather seats and heads up display. on my corvette it's called a 2lt

The LT1 will get good gas mileage on the highways. In the city, not so much.

Those pieces are brake ducts that you install when tracking the car as they keep the brakes cooler. The Owner's Manual has a section covering how to install those.

Those parts you found are supposed to be stored in the trunk of other random cars. Good move.

For the Camaro your trim level is called a 2SS. My lifetime mpg for 30k miles is 20.9.

Welcome to the Camaro world...That's ok mpg's. btw, your trim level is a 2SS. In the winter I average around 24-25, and during warmer months between 27-28 mpg. Most of my miles are highway and I'm at around 15k mile on the clock. Heck, on a trip to FL 2 yrs ago I got 30+ mpg. probably because we didn't run into any traffic jams, thankfully.

I just traded my 2018 2SS with 88,000 miles and it was averaging 25.7mpg, but my commute is all highway. My new 2SS is running 24.7 mpg but it is not fully broken in.

Be glad you don’t own ZL1 because it has a real healthy appetite for 93 octane. Your Camaro will get a little better mpg as the motor is breaking in with more miles driving.

My MPG at 2100 is about 20 mpg, using Fuelly to calculate. I get around 15-17 city and around 30 on highway.

The mind blower for me is that, with all the hooplah over CAFE standards and improving fuel economy over the years, the 4th gen F-bodies and pretty much every 4th-5th gen Corvette with the LS 350 and 4 speed automatic routinely got 30+ mpg on the highway. That's kind of hard to do with our 6th gens, my highway best has been 27.

The 6th gens might have twice (or more) as many gears but I'm not sure if the ratios are the same. I'm thinking there was a pretty tall final drive ratio on the older cars.

My daily trip to/from work is about 27 highway miles and that's where I get mileage between 25-29. If I take any highway drive that's longer I'll easily get above 30 mpg's. Prev. 2SS 6th gen with A8 was easier to get better because they didn't have the 3.73 gearing that the 1LE has. Long time ago, had a '96 Corvette LT4/6spd that averaged 26. (Really miss that car ).
