Dead Pedal Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the "dead pedal" from the car? I bought the ATS brushed pedal kit and it comes with the dead pedal and I read in a few places that dead pedal will fit our cars.

The dead pedal is attached to the floor carpet with a single "claw" clip (yes, it isn't connected to the floor at all). If my memory serves right, all you need to pop off is the L-shaped plastic trim piece behind the sill plate, which will allow folding back the carpet and accessing the clip.

Take the side kick panels off ..lift up on the carpet .the dead pedal and foam will come up with it. then you're going to have to remove the press on fasteners.. you will then have the dead pedal completely removed.

How about supporting a fellow forum member and getting one of these:

https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=525129 (auto)
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=530166 (manual)

instead?

They are very high quality and easy to apply, and if you have the GM performance pedal cover kit, you just need the dead pedal cover. I have the auto version and am fully satisfied.

What glue did you folks use on Hartford's dead pedal for the M6 version?

I used some ultra thin dual sided carpet tape, cutting it along the contours of the slits in the cover before peeling off the backing.

Turned out to be a very bad idea, I cleaned up the small pieces of goo that squeezed through for days. Next time, if ever, I'll just use super glue.

I used Gorilla Super Glue Gel. It worked better than Loctite 406 as the Gorilla Super Glue Gel does not run.
