2016 camaro ss 6 speed break in fluid change

How many qts does the 6 speed transmission require?

FYI there is no "break in" fluid swap needed on this manual transmission. Why do you feel the need to change it? Even Tremec says it's not necessary.

To be honest, with most diff/transmission problems people are reporting, GM's first port of call always seems to be change the fluid... preemptively changing all the fluids at 1000 miles or so might not actually be that bad of an idea before the problems develop in the first place.

For the diffs...GM actually recommends changing it around 1500. Not for the M6 and A8.

The manual only says to change it if tracking the car. Just wondering how many people miss it entirely and then have the problem. Otherwise it says to change at 45k miles.

Should the vehicle be used
for racing or competitive
driving (after break-in), the
rear axle lubricant must be
replaced before hand.

Yes, but with all the noise issues so many have been having with that diff, racing or not, I would change the fluid at 1500...

Yes exactly, and I've seen a few torque converter issues as well so I'm also in the process of looking in to doing the A8 fluid at the same time.

May as well swap out the DOT 3 to DOT 4 while we are at it.

The brake fluid is DOT 4, I can't think of a car that came with DOT 3 in it in years. If you are thinking better performing fluid, you just want a fluid with a higher temp rating like what Motul would make. Just remember that those high temp rated fluids can get more moisture in them and therefore require changes much more often then fluid with regular temp ratings.

Manual, page 338

Recommended Fluids, Lubricants, and Parts

Hydraulic Brake/Clutch System DOT 3 Hydraulic Brake Fluid (GM Part No. 19299818, in Canada 19299819).
