The dams supposedly help with brake cooling, something I'm not the least concerned about as I'm going to the grocery store. On the new Vette, some GM execs said it helps with aerodynamics, but when questioned closer, they said it helped only at above 125 mph. LOL

Ditch em, they're junk and look bad. (JMO)

But, now you have me thinking about removing them as well. They don't look good.

Can anyone advise what function these serve? Any function that would impact the car for daily driving?

Glen I'm just following your lead and copying everything you do lol . You've even got me considering changing my own oil again. Haven't done it for years. But, $40 an oil change vs $80 is sounding pretty good.
Lol, I haven't changed my own oil in about 10 years, I might do it again, get the first 2 done that I get free from GM, then I will decide.

Glen, I just got my valve and it came with an extra rubber coated gasket. Did you use that one as well or just the copper one?

Thank you for another great post Glen. Just out of curiosity... Has anyone CONFIRMED that the M12 x 1.75 x 12mm for sure fits the SS? I figured for one thing I don't have to be the spearhead for lol. I just added it to my amazon wish list and will grab it before I use 1 of 4 free oil changes.

Why did you get the rhino ramps rated for 16,000lbs @ $65 when the ones for $38 are rated for 12,000 lbs?

Just curious before I order my set

Are you saying the factory oil drain plug is 19m? Because the SS is for sure 15mm

Glen I got 6 free oil changes with the dealer about to hit 1500 miles and go get my first done. Now they are not going to use full synthetic do you think there is an issue with getting the oil changed at the dealer then switching over to full after I have used up all 6 ? I was told they use synthetic blend not full.

Would like your advice on this as you seem to be quite knowledgeable on the V6
