Stiff/rough suspension comments/thoughts?
Just wanted to get some different takes on this subject. So I’ve had a few people riding with me in the car now that I’ve had it for awhile. Girlfriends and friends/family etc. and they all mention how stiff/rough the car rides. I personally have gotten used to it overall but just wondered what everyone else’s thoughts are on this. I also think that the suspension is a little clunky/rattle like too but it doesn’t bother me. (Michigan roads so) I had the suspension checked out right after I got the car and they said everything was tight and brand new still so? Just looking for any thoughts or opinions out there on the suspension and setups maybe that make a difference things like that. For the record I have 20x10-20x11 MRR 1le replicas currently. Still have the stock 20s that came with it. They both felt about the same to me. Thanks guys and gals! Happy camaroing!!!!!!
I enclosed a photo of my wheel and tire just in case the tire profile comes up in the discussion. I actually stayed with 35 series tire instead of the popular 30 series to help with the ride. Didn’t make a lot of difference from stock in my opinion. |

Never seen tires like those, What brand are they? That could be part of the problem!! I assume that the car does not have MRC suspension.

With all the complaints lately about the GEN6 Camaros ride quality I can only surmise that non-MRC cars ride like chit. That or either people buying them are use to German luxury.
My SS 1LE rides like a Cadillac compared to my Lightning, 03 Cobra, 02 SS, and other muscle cars I've owned over the years, and in some situations even better than my wifes 2013 Taurus SEL. I keep it in track mod and never find it harsh or overly punishing even on poor roads. IDK my last DD was my 02 SS with BMR springs and Koni SA's set at 6 sweeps up front and about 3/4 turn on the back. You want to talk about a stiff ride it was 2x's more punishing than my 19 SS, but I even found it to be liveable as a DD. IDK. |

Lionhearts are incredibly cheap tires so yeah, I wouldn't expect a whole lot from them. Aside from magnaride, I'd invest in some decent rubber

The car does ride on the stiffer side. But tires do have some to do with that. I've had mine for four years and 65000+ miles. I'll trade a little comfort for what this car provides in driving sensation.

Dont overlook tire pressures and the ride quality you should be at about 32psi, cold.

Plus, you need tires with a softer sidewall if you want a cushier ride without MRC.

Yea I did 30 psi on the tire and the lionheart tires are decent.. had them on a few vehicles and they aren’t bad at all. Including ws6 trans am. I think the car is just stiff in general!

Everybody thinks you need pirelli ps4 or whatnot. I’ve got friends running lionharts on hellcats and no problem. I think the suspension is tricky but that all is speculative. The continentals On the stock wheels is the same feel so you can say the tire quality is it but I disagree!

I think it's all relative to what people are used to. To me, my 1SS with base suspension is about as smooth as I expect a sports car to be. Now, if I were coming out of an everyday grocery getter, or float box SUV, sure, I would call it stiff. but the fact that it is stiff and doesn't roll around a corner is why I wanted it.
come to think of it, when I was selling Infiniti, I drove a few Q60 Red Sports with their dynamic suspension, and they weren't much smoother than my car. At least not $20,000 smoother. |

Lowend chinese tires...you get what you pay for. They certainly won't help the situation either way.

FWIW, going from the stock runflats to Nitto 555G2 made a significant difference in ride quality on my 1SS, without giving up handling (for a non-tracked car). The stock runflats were loosening my fillings 😀.

I'm on run flats and no MRC and I love how the car rides. No complaints. Just need to man-up? Just kidding. haha
