Anyone know the part number for a 2SS 1LE side mirror?I have found color matched Camaro side mirrors on Ebay. Either Black or Mosaic Black but not the Satin 1LE mirrors.
So why am I looking for a side mirror?Some "A"hole came into my lane on Valentines and took out my mirror.We both have claims into our insurances.He saying i did it and i am saying he did it.No prof either way, so its a he said she said type of thing.So most likely either my insurance will cover it or i just might have to replace the mirror myself.Thats why i am looking for the part number.I did go down to my local Chevy dealer with my VIN and they could only find the unpainted mirror housing.Since i found color matched versions on Ebay, i figured there has to be a Satin one.
One more thing on the accident.I did call the Cops to come out to do a police report.When San Jose PD showed up they could not be bothered with the whole thing.I pointed out to the police.That the man driving did not have a California drivers license or ID.Only a Honduran ID card that looked to be fake at best.He said it did not matter, if I did not like it I should go down and VOTE!!!!!At the time i thought his attitude and his response, that he was being a dick about the whole thing.But after i thought about it later he is right.Vote out the people that tie his hands in matters like this.Just almost impossible in a one party state.It sucks but true.For the record i Vote in every election...

Lucky for me most of what you see on the paint is just on the surface.It looks to me most if not all will buff out.The only real damage is the mirror and my lower passenger side skirt.Both will need to be replaced.The damage to the mirror is to the base only and some scuffing of the paint.The "Mirror" itself is unbroken and still good.

The mirror and base are 2 parts, you may get away with a new base, check your mirror see if it is damaged where the base attaches to it. All these mirrors come unpainted and you have to paint it. I am not sure what the correct code for satin black is. Hate this happened to you, I guess only a mirror is a good thing as he could have damaged your fender, door and caused a lot more damage for a side swipe.

I think i am going to buy the whole mirror set up and then just swap out the base if i can.Either that or have the purchased mirror repainted.I did get pretty lucky as the accident could have been a lot worse......

Man you have my sympathies. California is home to the worst goddamned drivers. What a lying sack of excrement, that other driver. Did SJPD not even cite him for driving without a license, insurance, etc?

Does the outer shell have any damage? If not just get a whole replacement mirror and swap out the "neck" I had something similar happen and was able to just put in a new neck and all is kosher now, 100 dollar issue.

No they did not cite him and did not care at all......Under State Law if you take up residence in California.After 30 days you are required to get a California drivers License(No matter where you are from Legal or Not).The reason i know is when my son moved from Vermont last year.I went online and looked it up.

you can get 1LE mirrors from wildhammmer in case if you need exact match.

Or just find the cheapest (whole) assembly you can, any color and swap the neck out. Just caution, pull the mirror off and undo the small t10 torx screws to get the clamshell design to Come loose, don’t just try to pry it all apart or you’ll be in trouble.

There are several entire assemblies on eBay for 100~ dollars including the glass. You could probably even recoup your money if you sold the mirror glass by itself. Those go for 200 new lol.
