Are you going to be driving in the rain? If not, get the SC3 in either a 285/30 or 295/30 for the front and 305/30 for the rear. I did a 58 minute session at Big willow with the SC3s and they never showed signs of overheating. I chickened out in turn 8 (125mph entry) but the tires never felt like they were going to let loose.

G3s are ok in the rain till about track day 4 or so.
I drive to/from as well and drove thru some absolute deluge after 3 track days once. I am aure not as good as 4S, then again better for track pace and cheaper. Looks like you'll have to decide which is more important for ya.

I would not spend the extra $ on cup2s. They are a very nice street tire (and great track tire too obviously) but they didnt last me nearly as long as G3s did (on track).
If ya want track focused tire get G3s. If street with better longevity while still track capable: get 4S.

Or flip a coin

There is a review which compares:
- the Pilot Sport 4 vs
- the Pilot Sport 4S vs
- the Pilot Sport Cup 2

https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Articl...S-vs-Cup-2.htm

In the video at 11:54 you see the results in a table.

For the race track it makes sense to go with the Cup tires.

Not so much, given the laptime delta was in the hundredth of a second (albeit on a short track) and Cup2s cost is astronomical, compared to other choices.

In stock size, there isn't a better tire than G3, which costs hundreds less and doesn't give up much, if any pace over a Cup2 (from my first hand experience). RE71R is another good choice for just a bit more in 295/20 square
4S is a good choice with less ultimate track pace, but better longevity (for more $). That's about it.

The best track choice (in street legal category) for absolute pace is a G3R, which requires an investment in 19 rims. But as they say: speed costs

Would those RE-71s last more than a couple of track days?

Yep. About the same longevity as G3s: 6 or 7 days based on my experience (not corded yet, but insufficient tread for safe DD in the wet).
