Just ordered a tire machine and balancer. I figure it will pay for itself in a few years.
Which brand and model? Been thinking of that too. Maybe start a separate thread.

Its supposed to be here tomorrow. I got a Mayflower unit with the extra arm for low profile tires and a balancer. Total shipped was around $2600ish. I will make a new thread when it comes in and I get it set up.

They (RT660) are more heat-tolerant than the RE71R on track, it seems from the few current reports. They seems to be about as fast, at least, as the SC3 tires.

I will bring my set to the track some time soon to see how they do myself.

I put down an order for 315/30/18s. Will be using the Apex SM10 18x11 et35 wheels w/ 26mm front spacer that are currently on Apex group buy until 4/20. This is a really good deal if you haven't seen it...

https://www.gangup.com/apex/apex-sm1...o-q1-2021.html

The downside is both wheels and tires won't be here until mid-May.

Ended up with 295/35-19 square. 305/30-19 out of stock forever. I know JRL1LE did well on 295/30-20 square so I am optimistic. Doing Solo Saturday and Sunday at Thunderhill, so we'll see. Rain forecast Sunday!

Well that went OK. Won BS against a guy who has been to nationals a few times. Waiting on PAX results.
Ended up chasing chalk marks to 40 psi front, 36 psi rear.
Felt similar to SC3 but more steering feel near the limit.
Rain tomorrow, wish me luck!

Thanks for sharing your pressures. I have a 2 day event this weekend. I'm going to give your settings a try.

I was running them low (32/30).

I've been using rollover to gauge pressures (no pun intended) and have settled on 35f/33r. I am bleeding them down between runs to keep them at these pressures. After the third or fourth run they seem to stabilize on temps and the pressures stop climbing. Had another local event and all my impressions from the first event remain. Unfortunately, the two guys out of ~55 entries who usually best me in raw times also went to Falkens, so I have made no ground on them. But the three of us put a serious hurtin' on the rest of field.

40F/36R was hot. When I checked them cold this morning they were 32F/30R. I am on 295/35-19 square just FYI. Good luck this weekend.
