MGW Shifter install question 2010 SS

Does the tranny cross member need to be removed or just loosened?

i removed the crossmember and supported the transmission with a floor jack. seemed to help

I still have one (passenger side) that I can't quite get snapped down. I check it every time I'm under the car, been fine.....

Have you tried taking a flat head to the top of it and basically pull down with your weight on it? That is what I had to do, took some pretty serious force to get it locked again.
