WTB 17 or 18 inch wheels with optional used DR for Novice Driver

I raced my car at the drag strip last weekend for the first time, but I am overpowered for my street tires. I have my mind set on MT ET Street IIs. I don't want Nittos.

I want to spend as little as possible in wheels to get started, and frankly don't care about the design or color, I just want them to fit a 315/35/17 or 305/35/18 tire and clear my brembos on a 1" lowered car.

I wouldn't mind also buying some used MT's depending on how much tread is left and price. I know I can get a set of new MT 315/35/17 I want for between $400 and $450 (the 305's in 18" are more expensive - weird) but want to see if I can get started for the first time with less money if good timing for someone selling. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply and you have a very nice setup, but I didn't get any response, so I went ahead and purchased some 18" Corvette ZR1's - already received them. Not sure I could afforded your setup anyways as I am just starting racing. I am in the market for two 305/45/18 MT Street R's though - new or used. I really want a 305 and high wall because I am having a hard time putting the power down (I have 295's in 20" now) and if I up the boost later, will be needed even more.
