You should tell them that you're preparing for a track event. The manual specifies 0W-40 or 5W-40 dexos2 for track events. They should know it. Others have said they may charge extra for the Mobil 1 0W-40 ESP if they have it. If you bought the car there I think they should use whatever oil you want and let it go.

No. Only 2019's and above call for the new oil. GM has not yet said the new 0w-40 is the proper oil so dealers do not get reimbursed unless they use the 5w-30 it calls for.

The service bulletin actually covered 2017 and up.

If you go to the dealership and don't request anything you will there dexos approved house oil, which at my dealership is Mobil.

You can request to get Mobil One Extended 5w30 at a higher cost or you can get the 0-40 also at a higher cost.

But what they put in has to be Dexos approved and works just fine.

I've heard more than once where people get their free oil change and get five quarts instead of the recommended 10 quarts because minimum wage doesn't care.

lol i bring my own oil to the dealer and filter sometimes


saturday i brought it and only brought 10 cause last time i brought the whole 12 pack case and only gave me 1 and half back and was like hmmm wtf guys...
