Snap, crackle, pop

For the last 6 months or so, my dashboard sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies.
Crackles and pops over any non perfectly smooth surface. Luckily I’m able to crack a window so that drowns most of it out (or music). But it’s annoying to have it at under 12k mi. Notice it most when it’s cool out and windows are up.

Don’t want to take my dash apart or have dealer with it. Just deal with it I guess. Anyone else have this?

Interiors are noticeable more creaking in the cold temps, by my experience.

Have you had an accident or collision? That’s usually the beginning of creaks in my experience.

Several months ago, an SUV backed out of its parking space into my right front passenger side. I wasn't moving and the old guy was probably going...3mph. It did cause some damage and was fully repaired.

I guess it could be that but it was so slow and on the side that I doubt it. Just seems like the the whole dash crackles lately. Will have to start pressing on stuff. If it's the tech console, will try double sided tape but I don't think it's that. In the warmer months, not as much of an issue (or don't know if it is at all) b/c my windows are always open.

maybe a passenger side impact pulling the glovebox you might look around and see if a fastener is broke.

You mean like underneath the glove box or opening it up and checking?

Cold temps definitely have a big effect on the noises inside the car. If the temps haven't come back up where you are, that could be at least part of it. My car is completely creak and rattle free in regular temps. But, it sounded like the interior was breaking apart when I drove it once in the cold temps on smooth roads. Every little road imperfection made it creak.

That's horrible!

Yeah, that's likely not the issue for you.
