For me, they're adequate. Not into loud music while driving anyway.

Pretty sure (not certain) the 1LE has a different sound system setup than the 1SS. 1LE's don't have an amp in the trunk, right? My 1SS does

I would like to upgrade and put 6X9's in the back deck, my old 2010 1LT had 6X9's in the back deck and sounded better when I replaced them with Pioneer speakers, I have thought about taking my 1SS in to an audio shop and get some kind of quote, I even replaced the stock system in my 2012 RAM 2500 with the full Pioneer system and it sounds better than what I have in the Camaro now.

Don't think it is any different then the 1SS. I rented out a 1SS a few times on trips and the stereo sounds like complete crap. They should have went the extra mile and put a decent entry level system that doesn't distort when you put it up more then halfway. IMO... |

I'm an outlier I guess. I actually like the sound in the 1SS better than my previous '16 1LT with the technology package. I think the Bose system was a little too "bassy" and it was hard for me to adjust to get the mid-highs slightly dominant.
The one in my 1SS makes the music seem brighter and clearer to my abused ears that suffered a high-frequency loss. |

Yea I’m fine with my 1SS sound system. Only place I find it lacking is low end bass. I’m pretty sure the 1LE’s don’t have an amp in the trunk from the factory. The 1SS does Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1SS owner here. I came from a 2010 5th gen with Bose. I think the 1SS speakers in my 2016 are only a slight downgrade from the Bose in my 5th gen. They aren't bad, get fairly loud, clear enough, and do have some bass to them. Just don't expect big bass or perfect clarity at really high volumes.
Far from what I consider absolute crap. You guys remember how base systems sounded in the 80s and 90s cars/trucks? Now that was absolute crap.

My 1SS are better than my 16 Mustang, they handle a wider spectrum way batter. But then again I use viper codecs and I never listen to the radio or xm.
Basically if your source is the head unit, they're ok. If your source is a Bluetooth device, phone or so on, they can sound amazing depending on your phone's DSP and codec. It's just the factory processing that falls short on its own. |

Terrible in the 1SS, that, after a year I swapped out for a 2SS which is better. However still not as good as the premium sound system I was able to factory order in the build of my Gen 5 1SS. In the Gen 6 build I did there was no option for an upgraded speaker system.
Honestly even with the Bose I was disappointed and expected more. The premium system in my 2012 Jeep Laredo X Hemi still sounds better than both of them. |

They are average at best. Compared to my wife’s GTI they sound terrible. That said I bought an SS because of the engines soundtrack the speakers are good enough.
