Fastest Novice by over 2 seconds in a field of 48 novices and my first ever Auto X event! Only other experience was the Starting Line School a few weeks ago! I can't say enough good things about this car!!! My PAX calculated out to 61st out of 255 entrants!!! Not bad for a Rookie

This was in January at The FIRM (Florida International Rally Motorsports Park). The 1LE is the third car I've taken to this track and it was absolutely the most fun! Only issue I had with the car was a "rattling" noise that started when we left gas up during lunch. After multiple times jacking the car up and pulling both front wheels, I found that the lower nut for the sway bar end link was loose.... on both sides!

My passenger side did the same thing...

I'm going there the 31st with a new group of engineers I've met at work. Never been there before. From what I've been told, nobody else as either!
I'll be sharing your video with everyone else.

Looks like I'll be checking several suspension bolts/nuts beforehand too.

It's a fun track! Shorter and more technical, but cheap fun for the day and they are fairly lax with with everything.

That was my fasted lap of the day so the lines are pretty spot on. I still have some work on a few corners to shave another 0.5-0.75 secs off.

I'll be doing the same ritual now each time I go out. That's the first time on any car I've taken to the track that I had to mess with sway bar nuts. I was just happy it was an each fix and didn't require a dealer visit.

Let me know how you like the track. We'll have to meet up there at some point.

I wish I knew of a track close to me though I would probably be to chicken s... to use it. I would probably drive there in a 1LE and watch people race lol

I'll definitely let you know how I like it.

If you want to join us at WPB there's a Track Night America event there April 18. I'm already entered as is MatthewAMEL. If you're an SCCA member and you register this month (March) entry is only $50. Killer deal!
Not sure exactly where you are in FL but there's also another SCCA Track night at Roebling Road Raceway in Savannah, GA April 21. I've always liked Roebling.

Also, don't forget we have a track day at Daytona, Friday May 5.

After my 3rd session yesterday I also noticed a clunking sound up front. Took the wheel off immediately and checked out the ball joints and control arms which seemed fine, but ill bet the noise is the sway bar links like yours. I'm going to check that out today.

Turns out my driver's side sway bar end link was loose, as I suspected.

Video -

I honestly think they just aren't tightened enough from the factory. It took minimal effort to remove the passenger side lower link. I applied a drop of red locktite to both sides to prevent it from happening in the future.
