Yep, utah. I was a little confused myself....the website says Cali, but the C5 member who PMd me is in Utah. Anyway, i found the kit from this thread for 600 bucks but was wondering if anyone is running it.

I've been running this kit for about one year. In general, it drops the oil temps about 20-25 degrees under normal use. I've had the car on the track three times in that year. On cooler days, the engine oil runs cooler about 20 degrees. On a recent track day that was very hot (102 on track), my oil temps were still getting rather hot and what they were prior to the cooler on similarly hot track days.

The cooler adds about 2 quarts of oil to the system. Let me know if you have further questions.

The Camaro oil Cooler stock is more than enough to keep the oil cooled even under drag racing, track racing conditions, if your running headers and are worried the oil filter is to close to them purchase this the heat from the headers is minimal compared to the block temp

You obviously havent been on a road course with your car, 12 to 15 hard laps on a hot day and I'm at 300+ on my oil temp gauge.
Its no big deal on the dragstrip or for auto-x, but the stock oil cooler cant keep up on the road course.

I've done a bunch of research this past week and i have found that oil temp is the biggest issue with with 5th gen on a road course. I was concerned about oil starvation on long sweeping turns but am finding out it seems to be more of an issue with the vettes. I determined a dry sump would be overkill for a weekend warrior on the road course.

So did anyone find a good oil cooler kit? I did the Autoclub speedway in fontana this weekend and my oil temp was almost in the red. I skipped the last session because it was 105 by noon.

let the car idle between runs so it can circulate and cool down a lil bit.

Hey guys, can I just delete the oil cooler and plug the block and cap the radiator? If so what plugs do I need?
