Question front lights...

Hello all.

I have a question about the following lights.

https://www.carid.com/2017-chevy-cam...l#installation

Now. I spoke to the reps at carid. They stated it fits all camaro models 2016-2018...i think 18.

The lights we have do not come with the white drl light...the one that looks like an eye on the bottom of the headlight...day time running. Will I be able to put these on?

thx

That installation video made me cringe when they cut open the headlight like that! And then they just glue it back on? Good luck with leaks.

Maybe good for a show car but as stated above once you cut that housing apart moisture will find it way in......We all remember foggy headlights!!!

It looks like it uses the eyebrow led bar and just replaces the white drl leds. If your car does not have that eyebrow piece I can’t see how that kit will work on your car. I’d say to go look for SS headlights, it I’m not even sure if there are wires there to connect SS headlights in non SS cars. I’m going with it won’t work without additional modifications.

I agree. It's unlikely a car without the DRL's will work. Still...I suppose it's possible the wiring is there. Don't know for sure.

But I also agree with potential leaks.

I actually opened one of my lights exactly like this. Had hydroplaned and one headlight had all tabs break but the glass was good. Now instead of buying a new/used headlight I got one off eBay with all tabs intact and glass broken. Cut it open with a rental saw from Home Depot and glued it back into the new fixture with some heavy duty glue. If I can find the glue I'll update but I've had no issues

I just noticed, if your signature photo is current then you don't have the RS lights. This kit wouldn't work with your lights currently as they don't have the LED portion that it is replacing. If you were changing lights to the RS lights then you could use this kit.

If you just want some RGB without changing headlights then you can look into RGB headlight bulbs which would only change the actual headlight bulb itself.

If you go down the RS headlight path like me, you'll be looking at the cost of a set of RS or SS headlights (they're the same for these models), cost of the Gen5DIY non-RS to RS headlight harness, then the cost of this RGB kit you've linked. It gets pretty expensive this way.

Gen5DIY's harness will make it work, but the cost for the headlights and harness is pretty high
