What do you use to protect the Recaro seats? Was thinking of spraying them with Scotch guard?

Also, the break-in period being told to keep RPM below 4000 for 1500 miles??? serious?
I want to drive it like I stole it.

It does look great in Silver, high lights black accents much better than white.

36 months I guess I am going to have to daily drive for a week or two. My other car for daily commutes is a fiat 500E electric car, LOL Save on gas so I can burn it in the 1LE on the weekends.

Welcome

I'd stick to the 500-mile break-in as per the track prep guide that came with the car.

Also, I did short half throttle and WOT runs fairly early (but after the initial miles), only up to 4k rpm and rolling start of course and not from a dig, then let her slow down without braking to help with ring seating. I'm sure you're aware of the multitude of views out there, so this isn't advice per se, just sharing my thoughts (and the track prep guide/crate engine break-in procedure guide are definitely official GM documents).

NB all official GM docs including the said track prep guide specify 1500 miles as min before the car can be driven at "track events, sport driving schools, or similar activities". And this is not because of the motor but Ediff.
The said prep guide also mentions to reference official car manual, which specifically warns that Ediff can get damaged if this interval is not observed. Just an fyi in terms of official GM position before a drive train (not just its motor) is fully broken in. Cheers!

True, true, thanks. AFAIK only the 1LE has the ediff, so I didn't have to worry about that, unlike the OP. That said, he never mentioned track events, just the pain of having to stretch the break-in to 1500 miles, and from the motor's perspective it doesn't really seem necessary. I thought what the OP wanted was putting around on the weekends and not something serious like track days right after driving off the lot. He'll come back and correct me if I'm wrong
