Not sure if i want to replace my cracked splitter just yet? I can't seem to find one that is the exact same cut out trim as the stock one or even the stock on in gm? how much would it be with installation ?

also how do you feel , carbon fiber would look on the 1le would it take away from the tail not being carbon fiber? or look funny?

Upon delivery of my new 1LE, the front splitter was scraped. Dealership was unable to locate factory replacement. I searched and found GM Parts Direct to have replacements for $530.80 delivered. There are 12 screws, four pop rivets, and a long section of double face tape that secures the factory splitter to the front facia of the car. Using fishing line will safely cut the double face tape. If you like, GM Parts direct can also deliver the splitter factory painted.

Remember you can't fix carbon fiber to look repaired. They will body fill it and paint it black.so your beloved cf splitter will now look like a black painted one.

Isn't the front splitter the same as the GM accessories part called "front fascia extension"?

You are correct, GM calls the front splitter a "front facia extension". The only difference is that the front facia extension come painted to match the factory body colors. 1LE are satin black in color, as are the rear spoiler and diffuser. If you look under your factory installed front splitter, you will see a GM Part Number 84116157. The last two digits designate satin black color.

I just bought the one from rpi designs, for $300, fits well and looks just like oem for the most part. A couple details that make it's a tad bit inferior to oem.

Mine came broken as well. At first the dealership said it's $251 and in Stock. I found that strange. Upon further searching I come to find they quoted me for part #84176917, not 84116157. When I brought it up he told me that's not a GM part number and sported a little attitude about it when i told him i read it directly off of my splitter. Beyond frustrated with this dealership. Anybody actually have it replaced with an OEM?

Just got off the phone with someone else. Apparently the number stamped under the splitter is not the actual part number... the real part number I'm told is 84116158.

I checked also, you are correct. 84116158 is to get a factory original splitter.

My splitter is also cracked. My old ladies first drive. The 84116158 number comes up as a spoiler on GM parts direct and superstore sites. I checked Extreme Dim's but they are sold out. Whats the lead time for a carbon fiber layup? I am guessing the ZL1 1le splitter is a completely different animal and won't fit up.

GM really needs to offer the front view parking camera in the air dam like they have on the Corvette as an option. Also as an accessory with a flash to add the button on the MyLink to turn it on. I bet it would be a big seller with as many people have "front extensions".

No, a lot of them got damaged in shipping from the factory.
