I'm not saying it's not possible.. I'm questioning how a 2.0 and 3.6 Camaro could possibly weigh the same as it was stated by AL. There is a 100+ pound difference between ATS 2.0 and 3.6.

I didn't interpret what he said the same way you did. i thought he was saying a LT will be close to 300 lbs less in this generation than last. The 5th Gen LTs started at around 3,740 if I remember right (LSs were slightly less). It seems reasonable that 3,4xx could be acheived with the 2.0 version of the LT. The V6 version may be 100 more, but I don't think it will be unless they have a lot of extra stuff that comes with the engine upgrade. It is possible we could get a 3,490 lbs V6. I know that is barely under 3,500.

I could have sworn he said "2.0 and 3.6 will weigh about the same".. At this point, I don't take 100 pounds as about the same, but 20 pounds or so, sure.

I can see the 2.0 Camaro in the 3,400 range. That'll be a nice car.

He did. We are assuming the 2.0T ATS and 3.6 ATS are built exactly the same. I don't think they are. Maybe additional deadening and some not so apparent feature differences on the 3.6 are the culprit. Also isn't the weight we have for the ATS 3.6 the older LFX and not the new LGX?

Ahh, that is true. New engine cuts a bit of weight.

I don't think its that hard to believe they will be close in weight, with the T4 weighing a bit less. By that statement, I'm assuming the T4 and V6 will be pretty much the exact same car...except the engine. Same brakes, same suspension, same drivetrain....blah blah blah.

How much less does the T4 weigh compared to the N/A V6?

Of course they won't be "exactly" the same.

Someone correct me if wrong, but I listened to Al O's interview, and I'm fairly certain he said they pulled out close to 300 pounds from the V6. I don't think he just said "LT" version did he?

Don't have the time to go back and listen right now, but I know I was around the 6 minute mark of the video.

If so...that equates to a 3,4xx V6.

He mentioned base models (read LT). ChefBorOzzy links show the same weight difference but the new engine. Just wondering if Caddy puts extra bits in there. Someone needs to find the weights of the LTG and LGX.

Not to mention there will be less features and what not packed into the Camaro compared to the Cadillac....easy sub 3,500 lbs. But how low will she go??

I've been digging for weights. Tough to find.

LTG SUPPOSEDLY at 360 and LFX at 380, so pretty darn similar.

He said more than 200 lbs off the V8 and almost 300 lbs on the V6. The T4 should be similar in weight to the V6.

The LFX weighs 20 pounds less than the LLT, so if you can find a weight for that, you'll have your answer. That site lists 380 for both of them, so that can't be exactly right.

But I can't find weights for these anywhere either.
