Not sure I would want to wait that long to post that pic w/ the GT350!

Thanks! I'm hoping the low mileage (12k) and cleanliness (almost 2.5 years old but looks 6 months old) helps me get top dollar for it since I've decided to go ahead and sell the Mustang. There's a number of things I'll miss about the Mustang, but the ZL1 more than makes up it! I'll have to get used to switching on my brights and manually turning on my windshield wipers again...

Impressions update! I drove the Mustang this morning to run a couple of errands after not driving it since I picked up the ZL1 on Wednesday. In summary:

-It felt a little slow unless I was really getting on it (then it feels like it's moving pretty well) despite driving in a lower DA than I've ever driven my ZL1 in (since it was in the morning), AND I've yet to go full throttle or past 4k rpms in the ZL1 (I'm being careful during the break-in period)! Half throttle and short shifting at 4k rpm and the ZL1 still feels quick.
-It felt imprecise (handling dynamics and steering-wise) compared to the ZL1; not terrible by any means - just not near ZL1 level;
-It felt more upright (but definitely not commuter sedan-like upright);
-It sounded freakin' good w/ that Borla S type!
-The GT interior design, while cool, looks and feels decidedly less "sports car" like IMO, and in my daughter's opinion.
-Regarding the ZL1...It was pretty cool to be able to tell my daughter at a hot rod car meet up this afternoon (my first "car meet up" in the ZL1): "Yes, my ZL1 has about as much horsepower as this Ferrari 488 GTB"...

Here's a pic from this afternoon, what you can't see is the show ready '68 Camaro SS with a 502 c.i. in it parked next to me (and that old yellow bus blocked some other old cool cars and a S197 '13/14 GT500)

Of course, exhaust sound preference is personal, but with fuse 51 pulled and the secondary cats removed, the exhaust sounds great.

Dear Lord please forgive me for what I'm about to say...

The ZL1 at it's best does not sound anywhere near as good as the S550 GT.

I'm certainly not saying it does. I just think it sounds good that way.

And yes, you are forgiven.

The ZL1 sounds good stock, but not very close to my GT w/ the Borla catback. That thing purrrrs. That said, to me the ZL1 definitely has a pretty awesome and angry roar to it under load. I've also yet to take it past 4k rpms, so I'm sure the party is barely getting started considering there's 2,500 rpm left to go!

Thanks. It's interesting to A/B the two cars and be able to feel the difference in overall performance and dynamic feel, even without pushing the two cars remotely close to their limits in those back to backs.

Yep, 502 ci (apparently, like your '63 listed in your sig?!).

You bet, most likely a similar crate engine. Mine is getting a Holley Sniper system next winter.

Another big difference between the two cars is in the braking department. If you ask me, all Mustang GTs should have Brems at all 4 corners. It really needs them with this level of performance. The GT kinda feels like it has wooden brakes in comparison to the ZL1.
